Makati – The Ortus Club just recently hosted its inaugural dinner discussion in Manila. The event saw senior leaders of manufacturing companies in the Philippines coming together for a collaborative discussion. The topic? The changing landscape of the Filipino labor force.
For one night, the private dining room of the Black Bird Restaurant in Makati was filled with C-level executives of top manufacturing corporations to share and discuss some of the challenges they are all trying to overcome. Attending were chief executives of companies such as Toyota Motor Philippines, Siemens, Novartis Healthcare, JG Summit Petrochemical, Zuellig Pharma, Holcim Philippines and Pacific Paint (Boysen) amongst many others.
Sponsored by EmLogis, the night welcomed the thirty guests with reception drinks before moving to the private dining room where a lavish five star meal was served, but not before the discussion was introduced by former Secretary of Budget and Management Benjamin Diokno who then left the debate open to the table.
It is not everyday that we see executives of such levels and of different companies, actively partake in a relevant discussion that can help not only identify a challenge but brainstorm its solution too. More dinners are to be hosted before the Christmas season and we will look forward to seeing companies coming together to shape the future of their industries.
